Devour by Shelly Crane
Pages: 273
Clara has it all. A wrestling star boyfriend, popular friends, all the right school activities...pretty much a perfect life...up until her parents died. Now she lives with the Pastor and his family and though they take good care of her, she feels alone. Then her boyfriend, Tate, starts to show signs of trouble when a new guy, Eli, comes to town. Clara is fascinated with him but hides it until something happens. Eli confesses to her that she gives him something he's never had before...something he needs. Everything is about to change for this normal, pretty, popular girl in a supernatural way.
My Thoughts
Honestly, I hate terrible Tuesdays. All books have their flaws, but that's because nothing is perfect. Can I get an amen? *Choir all screams AMEN!* When I say terrible, I just mean it wasn't my style. Devour was an interesting read. It definitely took an interesting turn. As I'm writing this review, I want to go ahead and read the second book in the series just to find out what happens. With that being said, this book wasn't one that I immediately had to pick up and read every chance I get. One of the main reasons why it wasn't like that was because the leading man was naturally bad. It was in his nature. So for me it almost seemed like he was never going to be able to change. Then again I haven't read the second book, Consume. So I don't have a full understanding of what is going to happen. I love Shelly Crane! I'm saving a specific time to review her Significance series. But this series hasn't done it for me. I'm a dedicate fan of hers so I am going to finish this series. I want to love it, I really do, but it didn't capture me like her other books.
